Our
farm was created from a dear love of nature and an absolute
appreciation of Lavender. My name is Lila and I live in Paso Robles,
Ca. along side the Salinas River. With my husband, Kevin and daughter
Abigail, our farming has been a true work of love and devotion as we
progress with our field of 20,000 plus Lavender growing in our primary
fields.This year we have expanded our Lavender Farm with the addition
of our Culinary Lavender Field, demonstration garden and cottage.
We grow several varieties
of Lavender, in both the intermedias and the angustifolias for their fine oil producing properties and fine culinary features. We distill our essential oils here at the fields. Our Lavadin and Lavender essential oil's are of the highest quality. Our Culinary division has expanded to include several new varieties including the 'Provence' lavender along with sweet 'Melissa'
and 'Betty's Blue' just to name a few. Our working demonstration gardens
with herbs and spices are an amazing annual show. With noble edible flowers and heirloom vegetable's a carry the true traditions of a family farm specializing in Lavender and the uses of this
extraordinary herb.
We distill our own
oil here on site in our 50 gallon copper still. Central Coast Lavender uses an old artisan technique of hydro steam
distillation in a simple low pressure, small lot process. It is with
this age old method that we are able to get the highest quality oil
possible. From this we arrive at a 100% pure Lavender Essential Oil. For more information on this fascinating process visit our 'Discover Distillation' page.
Unlike most commercial processes, we only use the flowers or 'bud' from
the Lavender and not the stems and pieces. By distilling only the
precious 'bud' we are able to use the rest of the plant in many
beneficial ways. The by product called 'Hydrosols' is an amazing
natural cleaning product with a variety of uses. Even the 'spent' bud's
from the distillation process are again re-used by many as a mulch in
beds of plants and horses. The natural properties yield themselves to
keeping fungus to fleas, flies and pest away.
One of my
favorite uses of this amazing essential oil is the products that we
create. With this healing oil, I hand make all of our soaps here at
the fields using Natural Goats Milk, Shea Butter, and Hemp Seed Oil. I
also make a unique lotion for the hands and body. These lotions
moisturize and heal with the infusion of Lavender Essential Oil. Our
products extend into candles, sachets, Lavender pillows and eye masks.
I can also customize that perfect Gift set or basket for those special
moments and that certain someone.
Here at the fields we pride
ourselves in hand made, hand wrapped, natural items that are dear to
the heart as well as the spirit. We only use these pure Essential Oils
and Natural ingredients in all of our items. With this, each Soap,
Lotion and Body/Bath Oil is made upon order so that we can provide
fresh and simple products.
We sure love our Lavender Farm and the wonderful
benefits it has brought to our life . I hope to share it's healing
gifts with each of you by carrying its unique properties in all of our
locally home made and crafted products.
