Perhaps you have been looking at a corner of the garden and imagining lavender there. Perhaps there is someone you would like to thank, and you want to choose their gift with care. Or you have lavender growing already, and you are wondering what comes next.
We believe ordinary life deserves extraordinary care. Sometimes that care begins with asking a question.
Questions have carried this estate a long way. My own search for pure lavender became Central Coast Lavender in 2006. By 2007, the fields were being planted here in Paso Robles. I wanted to understand the whole journey, from the plant in the soil to the lavender someone would welcome into an ordinary day.
What we carry forward
Our plants came from cuttings of carefully chosen mother stock. That practice, which I call Purple Propagation, carries the plant's identity forward through a cutting rather than beginning again with seed. It is a thread I return to whenever we talk about growing lavender: knowing what you are planting matters long before the flowers arrive.
The learning continued through growing, distilling, aromatherapy, formulation and education. Along the way, I helped build a California lavender association and festival, and served as a founding vice president of our national association. There were many conversations, and much to learn from one another.
In 2020, we scaled down by the thousands to a small estate. The work became smaller in footprint, while the wish to share what had been learned remained.
That is part of what these conversations mean to me now. Someone may be tending a few plants beside a back door. Someone else may be planning a field. Both deserve a thoughtful place to begin.

Lavender Gardening & Field Consultations begin with the place you have and the questions on your mind. You might be wondering about your site, the care of existing plants, pruning or planning a larger field. A finished plan is not required.
Private Distillation Services begin with your own lavender. For decades, Central Coast Lavender has distilled essential oil for individuals and farms, working with quantities from one pound to thousands of pounds. We can discuss what you have, how much lavender you might need, what your particular batch may yield and what you would receive. Each project has its own arrangements to confirm.
The field decides. That is as true of a conversation about a future planting as it is of a batch waiting for the still.
The lavender we bring into everyday life
A Product Consultation can begin with a bottle you already have, a question about using it, or a gift you are choosing. There is room to ask about the differences between daily rituals and how lavender might fit into the routines already familiar to you.
For a business exploring a Private Label project, the conversation might turn to possible formulations, packaging, quantities and timing. We begin with the idea and confirm what can be arranged.
