Our Philosophy
Central Coast Lavender is a lavender estate, distillery, and apothecary in Paso Robles, founded in 2006. What we make is created thoughtfully, in small batches, and drawn from the quiet power of botanicals and herbs. We look for the balance between what works and what is a pleasure to use.
Our Commitment
Our commitment begins with what we choose to leave out. Many conventional personal-care products rely on chemicals that are hard on the body and the environment, used freely because so little testing or labeling is asked of them. We prefer to do without.
In their place we use naturally derived, biodegradable ingredients, and our own lavender, grown on our organic estate and steam distilled in a copper alembic pot still. Only the highest-quality materials go into what we make, and the batches stay small, so we can be sure of every one.
What we leave out
- Drying sulfates, including sodium lauryl and sodium laureth sulfate
- Harsh parabens
- Synthetic scent chemicals, including phthalates
- Oils extracted with propylene glycol
What we choose instead
- Gentle, plant-derived cleansers made from coconut and sugar
- Naturally derived, biodegradable ingredients
- Our own lavender, grown on our organic estate and steam distilled
- All-natural, steam-distilled botanical essential oils
