WHY IT’S DIFFERENT

Why our lavandin — the French hybrid that gives more.

Because our lavandin — our French lavender variety — gives with both hands — more bloom on every stem, more oil in every run — you get the lavender you can reach for with a generous hand, every day.
Because we run it slow and whole off our old copper pot still, you get the crisp, bright lift on top and lavender’s calm underneath — the full character, whole as it left the still.
Because every plant grows from our own true-to-type mother stock, propagated by hand and kept in an unbroken line, you know exactly what’s in the bottle — and the hands it came from.

FEEL THE DIFFERENCE

Whole, not stripped.

You don’t just smell our oil — you feel it arrive. There’s a name for why: the entourage effect, a principle long recognized in aromatherapy and whole-plant medicine — the understanding that a plant’s compounds work best all together, holding one another in balance, rather than as a single isolated part.

Because our copper pot still keeps hundreds of lavender’s natural compounds intact and working as one, the feeling is fuller, and it stays: a slow, grounded ease that many describe as the shoulders dropping and the mind going quiet, softening over hours from sweet top notes to warm, earthy depth. A fractured oil — stripped to a couple of isolated compounds — gives a sharp flash that’s gone in a minute.

Ours is the front row of a symphony; the other, a single loud note.

Sit with our lavender, one drop at a time.YOUR PLACE IN THE FIELDS IS WAITING IN EACH BOTTLE.

THE EVERYDAY ONE

For the house, the linens, the bath — and the breath before bed.

This is the bottle that lives on the counter, not in the cabinet. A few drops in the diffuser while you work, a few drops in the bath, or a mist where you sleep, a drop where the day needs clearing — French lavender is for people who reach for lavender daily and use it freely.

For aromatic and diluted topical use — see the safety note below.

A POT STILL. NEVER A COLUMN.

The oldest way, and the only one we’ve known.

The column still was built for production — invented for industrial volume, and over the years its design worked its way into nearly every producer, large and small. We never learned that way. We were trained by some of the old masters of the artisan essential-oil world — growers and distillers who held to tradition because they knew the chemical truth behind it — and we learned on the copper alembic pot still. We have never entertained another method.

Big round belly, onion top, and a condenser as large as the pot itself, where most keep a small one. The wide belly lets the steam rise slow and low-pressure, blanketing the flowers and lavender buds instead of forcing through them; the living copper binds away the bitter sulfur notes; and that big condenser crashes the vapour cold the instant it rises, holding the delicate top notes.

It’s slower, it makes less, and it’s the whole reason the oil comes off rounder and fuller — a difference you can smell, harvest after harvest.

As in art, no two seasons and no two farms are ever quite alike. Each bottle is a vintage of its season. The beauty in the lavender is where it finds you.

WHAT “100% PURE” MEANS HERE

Siphoned straight off the still. Into the bottle.

Once the oil separates naturally by specific gravity, it goes straight from the still into the bottle — nothing added, nothing cut, nothing carried. That direct path is what makes it a true 100% pure essential oil. Field to bottle, exactly.

Amber bottle of Lavandin Essential Oil from Central Coast Lavender

A simple place to begin.

Farm-grown and harvested at peak bloom, each batch is distilled at harvest to preserve its character at its most alive. The 10 mL bottle is made for everyday use — a few drops are often enough. For those who find themselves reaching for it often, the 30 mL bottle simply offers more of what becomes part of the day.

THE QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT NOT ASK

Fair questions. Honest answers.

Is lavandin essential oil real lavender?

Yes — lavandin is lavender’s naturally occurring hybrid: Lavandula × intermedia, a select cross of English lavender and spike lavender, grown in our same fields and distilled on the same copper pot still as our Lavender Essential Oil. A hybrid prized for its rich aroma and abundant oil — bolder voice, same family.

How is it different from our Lavender Essential Oil?

French is brighter and more herbal; True lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is softer and sweeter, without French’s crisp, almost eucalyptus-like edge (that’s the camphor and cineole). If the Lavender Essential Oil is the evening voice, Lavandin is the all-day one — and the one that’s ready today. Notify me when Lavender Essential Oil is back

Why is this $25 when I can get lavender oil for $12?

Inexpensive lavender oil is often commodity oil — industrial column-distilled, and not on copper, blended from many farms — a different product doing a different job. Ours comes off our own copper pot still, from plants we propagate ourselves, bottled within days of harvest — one farm’s oil, whole.

Which size?

The quiet math to guide your decision: each 10 mL bottle holds approximately 300 drops of essential oil, and our 1 ounce is 900 drops — think of it as visiting lavender three times more often, with months of everyday use.

How long does a bottle keep?

Kept capped and out of direct sun, lavender oil holds its character for years — the cobalt blue bottle is doing that job for you. Freshness matters most at the start, which is why ours ships fresh off the still each season.

Is lavender essential oil safe for skin, kids, and pets?

Yes — when used the way pure essential oils are meant to be used: diffused, or diluted on skin (a few drops in a carrier oil, never straight from the bottle). For children and pets, keep it in the air, not on them — diffuse in a room they can leave, and store it out of reach. Never take it internally — and if you’re pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, ask your physician first.
