A 20 Year Love Affair with Lavender
The women who came before, and the ones who come after.
Long before the estate, there were the women who came before me.

The women before
Pressed to my temples, and told to listen
My grandmother understood what the world needed: a place to breathe. My mother pressed lavender to my temples and told me to listen.
That knowing was handed down long before I ever planted a row, and it is the beginning of everything that grows here now.

2006
It broke something in me, and then it made me a grower
When I went searching for true, unadulterated lavender, I found imposters. In the fight of my life, the search was real, and it broke something in me. And then it made me a grower.
Everything that grows here traces to three mother plants my father and I chose together. All true to type, passed down via cuttings from mother stock carried generations before. He walks these rows in spirit now, and my daughter carries the calling forward.
The Three Movements
Stewardship
Twenty years of mutual care. Everything that arrives at your door was grown by hands that know this plant well, gathered at the hour it is strongest, and distilled the way it asks to be. She, lavender, carried me when I needed her most, and now I care for her, in a relationship that planted a lifestyle I get to share with you.
Covenant
Lavender asks for very little, only a place kept beside you. It meets you at the end of any kind of day, and it is easy to let a thing that steady go unnoticed. This is a gentle reminder to reach for it.
Recognition
There is no persuading here. The people who keep lavender close tend to find their own way to it, and to us, and are welcome when they do.
