Months after the harvest has ended, a single drop still remembers the summer it came from. Perhaps that is why we are slow to call it a product. It feels closer to a season that found a way to stay.
For twenty years, every bottle has begun in the same place: lavender grown on our organically grown farm on California's Central Coast, cut by hand at first light while the field is still cool, and distilled slowly in a traditional copper still. Nothing hurried. Nothing outsourced.
This is Lavandin — Lavandula × intermedia 'True Grosso', a naturally occurring hybrid, loved for a fuller, more resinous aroma than its softer cousin. Sweet and floral, with a soft balsamic, woody finish.
The reward is found in ordinary hours. A drop or two warmed between the palms before bed. A calmer massage at the end of a long day. Linen sprayed and waiting before guests arrive. A bath drawn after an afternoon in the garden.
These small rituals ask little. Over time, they become part of how a home feels. Ritual begins with one drop.
Living with it
Before bed — warm one or two drops between the palms, or rest a drop at the edge of the pillow.
For the body — blend a few drops into a spoonful of carrier oil for a calming massage, or add to a warm bath (mixed into carrier first).
For the home — a few drops in the diffuser, or into unscented linen and room sprays.
The making
Organically grown, hand harvested, and traditionally distilled in an alembic copper pot still on our family estate. No fillers, nothing synthetic, no additives — a complete, unadulterated essential oil, given time to rest before it reaches you.
