A vessel of brushed aluminum and glass, sized for the palm, holding a breath of the estate's lavender. A quiet companion to the oil, kept for the moments a single breath is all the ritual asks.

Breath is the oldest way to know lavender. The sense of smell runs a short, direct road to the seat of feeling, so one slow inhale settles a moment almost before it is named. This is the ground of aromatherapy, and the study the estate's founder returns to now in the Tisserand Institute's Nose to Brain coursework.

One charge lasts. Filled a single time, the vessel holds two to three months of daily use, and a 10 mL bottle of the lavender essential oil, close to three hundred drops, restores it some twenty times over. A little lavender goes a long way.

Lavender is the beginning of nearly everything made here, steam distilled in a copper alembic pot still, slowly, over a low fire. Little is made, and what is made is meant to be kept and reached for.

The ritual

One quiet breath. Uncap, hold the vessel beneath the nose, and inhale slowly, first one side, then the other. A few minutes is plenty.

Aluminum, glass, and cotton, chosen to keep the oil true. The case is opaque to the light, the inner glass inert, the cotton slow to release the scent. Nothing plastic touches the oil.

In cobalt blue, matched to the estate's bottles, or silver. Five milliliters. It arrives empty, ready for your oil.
